Albon vows to fight for 2022 Red Bull Formula 1 return

Alexander Albon has expressed his confidence that he can fight for a 2022 Formula 1 seat with Red Bull Racing in spite of his demotion to a back-up role for 2021. Albon made his Formula 1 debut with Toro Rosso in 2019 and stepped up to Red Bull mid-season, retaining his position for 2020. But Albon struggled alongside Max Verstappen and scored only two podiums, classifying seventh in the championship. Red Bull has recruited Sergio Perez to partner Verstappen for 2021 but has kept hold of Albon in a test and reserve role.
