Barcelona pens deal to host 2021 Spanish GP

The Circuit de Barcelona-Catalunya has signed a contract with Formula 1 that sees the circuit remain the host of the Spanish Grand Prix in 2021. In late December, the Catalan government gave the green light to officials at track to secure a deal with F1 for this year. The Spanish Grand Prix was listed on the provisional calendar that was then ratified by the World Motor Sport Council, however it was always subject to an agreement between F1 and the event’s promoter. The circuit confirmed the new deal on Monday, with the race weekend scheduled to take place from May 7th – May 9th.
