Hamilton comes first on the list for Sports Personality of the Year
Lewis Hamilton is on the BBC's list to be named Sports Personality of the Year in England. The Brit won his seventh world title in Formula 1 this year and matched Michael Schumacher's legendary record. The BBC Sports Personality of the Year Award is the main prize of the BBC Sports Personality of the Year ceremony, which takes place every year in December. The winner is the athlete who, judged by a public vote, achieved the most that year. The recipient must either be British or live and play a significant part of their sport in the UK.
