Max Verstappen does not think it is wise to start on the normal compounds in the current circumstances. The nine-time Grand Prix winner joked about Charles Leclerc's suggestion by wondering if his rival had drunk a few gin tonics this morning.  "It's disappointing of course", says Verstappen about missing out on his third pole position in his career in Formula 1.
