Provisional starting grid GP Turkey: Penalty for both McLarens!
It was an exciting afternoon at Istanbul Park for the qualification of the GP Turkey. Rain and a new layer of asphalt gave a surprising result. This is what the preliminary grid looks like for tomorrow's race. The big surprise of today is of course Lance Stroll. The last couple of races the Canadian driver has had a lot of criticism, but in Turkey the Racing Point driver was able to show his qualities again. Stroll's performance was particularly notable as Max Verstappen was giving a master class in driving in the rain. The Dutchman now has to settle for second place, ahead of Sergio Perez Racing Point.
