Gasly at risk of grid penalty following FP2 engine blaze

Pierre Gasly's fiery exit from FP2 on Friday has put the AlphaTauri driver at risk of a grid penalty for Sunday's Portuguese Grand Prix. Gasly's afternoon session was cut short when the Frenchman's engine suddenly lost all its electrical power. As the AlphaTauri driver coasted to a halt, a fire erupted at the rear. Gasly quickly exited his car but the blaze continued unabated until the marshals reached the AlphaTauri and extinguished the flames.
