Mugello gravel traps not 'one size fits all' solution for F1 - Masi
FIA race director Michael Masi says the Mugello circuit's widespread use of gravel traps as run-off areas is an approach that cannot be replicated everywhere. Drivers were complimentary of the Tuscan Grand Prix circuit's layout that relies on several gravel traps to set track limits, a solution that leaves little margin for error contrary to large asphalt run-off areas that are often abused by drivers at other venues. "You know that if you do a mistake you pay for it more than just going wide and coming back on track 50 metres later. So I prefer gravel," said Charles Leclerc.
