Mercedes feared Hamilton and Bottas wouldn't finish the race

Toto Wolff has admitted that he thought that both of his Mercedes' would not finish the Austrian Grand Prix. The Silver Arrows were suffering from gearbox problems for much of the race, with both cars told not to take to the kerbs for fear that the vibrations could be causing further issues. Article continues under video In the end Valtteri Bottas was able to get home to take the chequered flag, while Lewis Hamilton had to settle for fourth after collecting a five-second penalty following an collision with the charging Red Bull of Alex Albon.
