Mercedes and Ferrari to run private tests before Formula 1 return

Formula 1 front-runners Mercedes and Ferrari will make their returns to the track in private tests over the coming weeks, it was announced on Thursday. Last seen on-track in February at preseason testing, it has been nearly four months without the sight of a F1 car due to the COVID-19 pandemic, but that is set to change in the coming days. Per an announcement on their twitter, six-time defending champions Mercedes will run their 2018 car at Silverstone next week, with Valtteri Bottas taking the wheel on Tuesday before Lewis Hamilton has his turn on Wednesday.
