Sainz urges McLaren to keep him in the loop
This season is Carlos Sainz's last with McLaren but he has urged the team not to cut him out as he feels he can still help them develop the 2021 car. Last month Ferrari announced that Sainz would be heading to Maranello in 2021, signed to a two-year deal to partner Charles Leclerc. In his place McLaren revealed that Daniel Ricciardo will be joining them from Renault. The early announcements have raised some eyebrows, most notably from Toto Wolff who questioned the wisdom of working with a driver for a full season knowing they on their way out. The Mercedes team boss says he would be worried that the driver would take information about his current team's innovations over to his new team....
