McLaren announces Ricciardo 2021 switch

The Formula 1 merry-go-round has continued with McLaren announcing that Daniel Ricciardo is joining from Renault in 2021. Sebastian Vettel sent silly season into full swing after he and Ferrari made a joint statement to say 2020 would be their final year together as they ‘no longer had a common desire to stay together beyond the end of this season'. Vettel's confirmed departure opened the floodgates, but McLaren's Carlos Sainz quickly emerged as the man on pole position to take the four-time World Champion's seat.
