Monaco Grand Prix organisers have claimed it would have been "impossible" to hold the race later this year following the recent cancellation of Formula 1's blue-riband event. For the first time since 1954, there will be no Monaco GP this season, with the Automobile Club de Monaco [ACM] opting to cancel the race that was due to be staged from May 21-24 rather than postponing and hoping for a slot later this year.
