Renault furloughs “vast majority” of F1 staff

Renault has become the latest Formula 1 team to announce widescale cutbacks amid the shutdown period caused by the coronavirus pandemic, with the “vast majority” of its race team staff put into furlough while its engine factory has been moved on to a part-time schedule. After McLaren, Williams, Racing Point and F1’s management all put staff into furlough through the British government’s Job Retention Scheme, Renault has followed by announcing most of its Enstone staff will be on furlough during its shutdown period covering April and May.
