Red Bull driver Alex Albon born on this day

Alex Albon enjoyed a remarkable debut season in Formula 1 in 2019. After finishing third in the F2 championship the year before, Albon was signed by Toro Rosso, with the Red Bull junior team turning to the London-born Thai, who at one stage had appeared set for a season in Formula E with Nissan e.dams. Article continues under video Albon performed consistently enough for Toro Rosso over the first half of the season through to the summer break that when Red Bull opted to change the under-performing Pierre Gasly, he was given the nod.
