Imola's director has sent F1 an application to replace the Chinese Grand Prix with a race at the famous Italian track after the event in Shanghai was cancelled due to the coronavirus outbreak. To give it its full name, the Autodromo Enzo e Dino Ferrari has not held an F1 race since 2006, but has been angling for a return to the calendar. Imola is known as one of the most fearsome and difficult tracks on the calendar, despite the toning down it received following the tragic events of 1994, where both Roland Ratzenberger and Ayrton Senna were killed in the same weekend.
