Formula 1's Pat Symonds admits that in hindsight tweaking the aero rules for 2019 to help promote closer racing was the wrong decision. For last season, Formula 1 and the FIA ushered in an aero package destined to allow cars to follow each other more closely and improve the potential for overtaking.
