Japanese Grand Prix – Mercedes' Valtteri Bottas has gone fastest in second practice in Japan and, under this weekend's rules, takes provisional pole position. Valtteri Bottas has gone fastest in the second practice session at Suzuka, meaning the Finnish driver is on provisional pole position as it stands. Due to Typhoon Hagibis being forecast to hit the circuit on Saturday, all of Saturday's track action has been cancelled. FP3 has been removed from the schedule entirely, while Qualifying has been moved to take place on Sunday morning.
