Doctors 'confident' in Correa's condition after 17-hour leg surgery

F2 racer Juan Manuel Correa underwent a 17-hour surgery procedure last Sunday that was deemed successful by doctors, although the Alfa Romeo Racing junior driver remains under close observation. Correa survived the horrendous crash that claimed the life of fellow Formula 2 racer Anthoine Hubert at Spa last month. But lung complications coupled with severe injuries to the 20-year-old's lower right leg forced doctors in Liège to place Correa in an induced coma. He was later transferred to a specialized intensive care unit in London where he recovered from his lung condition. Doctors were then allowed to address his leg fractures which were so severe that a partial amputation was envisaged....
