Race: Ferrari's Leclerc ends Mercedes' reign at Monza

Charles Leclerc claimed Ferrari's first home win in nine years, robustly defending against Mercedes at the Italian GP, a race in which Sebastian Vettel suffered a brain fade. Blue skies and red grandstands greeted the drivers at the start of the 53-lap Italian Grand Prix. Hotter than expected conditions at the Temple of Speed meant there were questions about how the Pirellis would hold up. Mercedes challenged Charles Leclerc for the lead into the first chicane but the Ferrari driver held firm, leading the race ahead of Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas.
