Lando Norris to join max Verstappen, Pierre Gasly at the back of Italian grid

McLaren’s Lando Norris is to join rivals Max Verstappen and Pierre Gasly at the back of the Italian Grand Prix grid after taking on fresh engine components. On Friday morning it was confirmed that Norris’ MCL34 had been fitted with all bar new Control Electronics, meaning he takes on an automatic back-of-the-grid sanction. The British rookie looked set for his highest ever finish last weekend in Belgium, but on the very last lap of the race, whilst running a comfortable fifth, his Renault unit shut down, forcing him to retire.
