Racing Point ‘well on our way’ to setting 2020 driver line-up

Racing Point Formula 1 team principal and CEO Otmar Szafnauer says his side is “well on our way” to confirming its driver line-up for 2020. Lance Stroll followed his father, Lawrence, across from Williams to Racing Point over the winter after the Canadian businessman successfully took over the former Force India squad last year, in what was described as a “long-term deal”. At the Hungarian Grand Prix prior to F1’s summer break, Sergio Perez, whose contract expires at the end of the current campaign, said he is just “a matter of time” away from securing a fresh contract, adding the team was his “priority” for next season.
