Sainz: Positive day for McLaren after being unsure of performance in Hungary

Carlos Sainz has revealed the team were unsure on what their performance would be like at the Hungaroring but admitted it was a positive qualifying session, with Sainz and Lando Norris set for P7 and P8 on the starting grid. Sainz will start eighth behind his teammate but has been very consistent over the weekend, finishing seventh, eighth or ninth over the last four sessions. The Spaniard will start the race on the soft tyres after setting his fastest lap in all three sessions on them. After qualifying Sainz revealed the team weren't quite sure on what their performance would be like but admitted they were satisfied with the outcome of qualifying. “I think it’s a positive day...
