Leclerc aiming to jump Mercs with tyre advantage

British Grand Prix – Ferrari's Charles Leclerc says starting on the Soft tyres means the early race aim is to get in front of the Mercedes' to control their pace. Charles Leclerc was the only driver able to get anywhere near the pace of the Mercedes drivers in Q3 on Saturday, finishing just 0.079 down on pole position at the chequered flag. This was after Ferrari opted to go a different direction to the Mercedes drivers in Q2. While Lewis Hamilton and Valtteri Bottas both made it through on the Medium tyres, Ferrari put their drivers on the Softs.
