McLaren ‘happy' for Alonso to join rival team

With reports claiming Fernando Alonso has made himself available to Red Bull, Zak Brown says he would be happy to the see the former McLaren driver return to the grid with a rival team. Walking away from F1 after four disappointing seasons with McLaren, Alonso opted instead to focus his attention on the World Endurance Championship and an Indy 500 run. That yielded a WEC title and a second Le Mans victory, however, the Indy 500 wasn't at all successful as the Spaniard failed to qualify for the race. With nothing set in a stone on his racing calendar, Red Bull's Helmut Marko recently claimed that Alonso had contacted the team about a possible drive should they opt to replace Pierre Gasly...
