Red Bull Ring renames a corner in memory of Niki Lauda

Austrian Grand Prix – Red Bull has announced that a corner at their eponymous circuit in Austria will be renamed in Niki Lauda's memory. Niki Lauda was a hero of Austrian sport, winning three World Championships in 1975, 1977 and 1984 with Ferrari and McLaren. His comeback from life-threatening injuries during the 1976 title fight with McLaren's James Hunt was immortalised by the 2013 Hollywood film Rush, re-telling his story for a modern audience. Lauda, who remained involved with Formula 1 and worked as non-executive Chairman of Mercedes AMG F1 over the last few years, became seriously ill last summer and passed away in May.
