George Russell is set to start the Austrian Grand Prix from the pit lane after Williams were forced to change his front wing specification in parc ferme conditions after qualifying. Russell, who had a three-place grid penalty for impeding Toro Rosso’s Daniil Kvyat in Q1, had been set to start the race from a promoted 18th place due to the grid penalties for Alexander Albon and Carlos Sainz. But following qualifying, Williams has replaced Russell’s front wing assembly to a different specification and due to Formula 1 rules the British driver must now start the race from the pit lane.
