Mercedes still to quick for Red Bull but can still compete with Ferrari

Max Verstappen may have finished down in sixth during FP2 for the French GP, but the Red Bull man has the Ferrari cars in his sights and is aiming for improvements on Saturday. Verstappen had a mixed day finishing in P4 during Friday's morning session but dropped to sixth during FP2. The Dutchman's best time in the morning of 1:33.618 came after 20 laps of the Paul Ricard circuit and he followed it up with a 1:32.049 in the afternoon which was only good enough for P6. Verstappen was also involved in an incident with Lewis Hamilton during FP2 which saw them both run off the track at turn four and five respectively. After an investigation by the stewards, no further action was taken....
