Lando Norris’ strong Canadian GP weekend came to a sad end when his rear brakes caught fire and seemed to melt his suspension, in an incident that hasn’t been fully worked out yet. The young Brit battled with Red Bull’s Max Verstappen in the early laps and was running strongly before the problem that ended his race. It was first thought that Norris had bumped the wall somewhere, causing damage, but he says that this was not the case.
