Bottas: I’m in the lead and I want to keep the position

Valtteri Bottas finds himself in the unusual position of leading the Formula 1 World Championship and the Mercedes driver has every intention of leaving this weekend’s Chinese Grand Prix still at the top of the points table. The 29-year-old Finn, determined not to be seen as a ‘wingman’ to five-time F1 World Champion teammate Lewis Hamilton, won the season-opening Australian Grand Prix with an uncharacteristically gritty drive. After two races of the 21-round season, Bottas is still ahead of Hamilton — albeit by only a point.
