No additional staff for Renault ahead of 2021 cap

Expecting a budget cap in 2021, Cyril Abiteboul says Renault will not bolster their staff numbers only to retrench in two years. Formula 1's powers-that-be are pushing for a budget cap come 2021, the year that the new Concorde Agreement comes into effect. This years many of the sport's bigger teams such as Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull will be forced into making redundancies to reduce their spending. And while for the next two years they can still use their enlarged work forces to make bigger gains against the likes of Renault, Abiteboul says his team won't be employing more people only to let them go.
