Lando Norris completes McLaren's ‘first day' of 2019 as new sponsor signed

Testing – Lando Norris tested for McLaren on Tuesday as the team successfully completed what they called ‘the first day of 2019'. Norris was at the wheel of the MCL33 for the first day of the Pirelli tyre test at Yas Marina in Abu Dhabi, the first time he has been the focus of attention of the team as he gears up to be one of the team's race drivers in 2019. Racking up 136 laps over the day's running, he finished P6 on the timing sheets with a best time of 1:38.187 set on the prototype 2019 Pirellis. “I think this was the most laps I’ve ever done in a day, so it was good.' he wearily said afterwards.
