Nissan e.dams confirms Alexander Albon exit, primed for Toro Rosso

Nissan e.dams has confirmed that it has released Alexander Albon from his contract, paving the way for the Anglo-Thai driver to join Toro Rosso's Formula 1 team. Nissan, which took over Renault's Formula E entry, confirmed in September that it has recruited Albon to partner former champion Sebastien Buemi for the 2018/19 season. At pre-season testing, however, at the Ricardo Tormo Circuit in Valencia, Albon did not complete any running for the team as speculation mounted that he was being chased by Toro Rosso for 2019, leading Nissan to field Oliver Rowland on the final day of action.
