Honda closes gap even more: "Just 20 bhp behind Ferrari & Mercedes"

Honda have closed the power deficit between them and Mercedes and Ferrari even more, according to the Italian branch of Motorsport, with the Japanese power unit reportedly only being behind 20 horsepower now. The new goal of Honda is to get the best out of their engine in qualifying rounds as well as in the race. Toro Rosso drove the newest spec of the Honda engine in Honda's home country Japan and had their best qualifying performance of the year. Brendon Hartley finished P6 and Pierre Gasly in P7, which is a great leap in qualifying performance.
