Billy Monger takes pole at scene of his life-chaning accident at Donington Park

Double amputee Billy Monger took his first pole position since returning to the sport at Donington Park after his horrific accident last year at the same venue. Monger set a 1:24.769s to take pole by 0.173s from his nearest rival. In an F4 race at Donington last year, Monger hit the back of a stationary car in a horrific high speed accident. It was a crash that cost the 19-year-old both of his legs. Almost a year on however from the life-changing event, Monger was upbeat and in full focus-mode and took pole position "To come back here, with the meaning this circuit has to me and my first race back here, to get pole is an awesome way for me to start the weekend," Monger said after...
