Carlos Sainz Jr: “I Woke Up Knowing We Had A Really Good Chance In The Race.”

Carlos Sainz Jr. was “satisfied” with his eighth place finish at the Singapore Grand Prix as he felt he used his strategy to good effect. The Spaniard was knocked out in Q2 on Saturday meaning he started in twelfth and admitted that while he wasn’t happy with his grid slot, he knew had a good chance to score some points at the Marina Bay Street Circuit. “I’m very satisfied with the result today. I wasn’t happy yesterday, but I woke up knowing we had a really good chance in the race.” Sainz started on the ultrasoft tyre and was able to go long before switching to the soft tyre and he feels that strategy helped him get into the points paying positions. “We had an advantage...
