Alonso best of the rest: "Small win for us"

Fernando Alonso has managed to finished seventh in the Singapore Grand Prix, beating all other midfield cars too it, which is why the Spaniard calls the result a "small win." Alonso started in 11th, giving him the luxury to start on the compound he wanted (hence the nickname for 11th 'mini-pole'). He did so on ultra-softs rather than hyper-softs, like everyone in front of him. He made quick work of getting himself in the points, overtaking both Nico Hülkenberg and the crashed Esteban Ocon. He then out-lasted everyone on the track as he was on the harder compound and found himself in P7, a place he wouldn't let go of for the rest of the race. He might have been a minute...
