What caused Lewis Hamilton's Hockenheim failure?

Lewis Hamilton appeared to be at odds with his Mercedes team over the cause of the hydraulic leak which ended his qualifying efforts for the German Grand Prix in Q1. Hamilton was ordered to stop his car after running over kerbs at Hockenheim and is likely to start the race 14th. Hamilton's initial attempts to trundle back to the pits were stopped by the team, and he was unable to push the car home - the champion's mood likely soured further as title rival Sebastian Vettel took a dominant pole for Ferrari.
