'No blank cheque' for success, insists Renault's Nick Chester

Renault chassis technical director Nick Chester has said that team doesn't have an unlimited budget when it comes to buying its way to success. “I don't think there's ever a blank cheque, unfortunately,” he told the official Formula1.com website this week. “You have to justify what you want to do, show the value you're going to get from how you want to expand. "And you have to show that you've been credible along the journey, which I think we're doing now.” Things are certainly much better on the financial front now than they had been before Renault took back ownership of the team from Lotus at the end of 2015.
