Perez sure gap to F1’s big three is smaller in 2018

Force India’s Sergio Perez believes Formula 1’s midfield pack will be much closer to Mercedes, Ferrari and Red Bull in terms of performance during the 2018 season.  Pre-season testing suggested F1’s midfield battle is set to be even tighter this year, with the likes of Renault, McLaren, Haas and Toro Rosso all showing positive signs of improvements over the winter.  Perez says he is anticipating a close fight for midfield supremacy throughout 2018 ahead of this weekend’s season-opening Australian Grand Prix.  “During testing we saw that all the midfield teams are quite close together in terms of performance.
