Halo forces significant redesign for F1 teams

Lewis Hamilton runs the halo at Spa The late addition of the controversial halo into Formula 1 this year has forced teams to heavily modify their chassis to accommodate the device. Fitted to a number of cars during practice sessions last year, the halo has become compulsory for the 2018 season as a standardised component for all teams. 'Adopting it has been a significant challenge,' said Mercedes technical director James Allison.
