Event security to be discussed at next WMSC meeting after Brazil incidents

Event security at Formula 1 Grands Prix will be discussed at the upcoming meeting of the FIA’s World Motor Sport Council next month, after a spate of incidents at Interlagos last weekend. Several robberies, and attempted robberies, took place on Formula 1 personnel travelling from the circuit to their hotels at the end of each day, with various parties affected. A group of armed robbers attacked a Mercedes team minibus, with one member of the team having a gun pointed to his head, as items – including passports – were stolen.
