FIA: Halo best solution

The FIA has claimed the halo is the "best solution" to "mitigate against frontal impact in the cockpit area" in a long explanatory statement released on Saturday. The halo will be introduced to all F1 cars in 2018 in an effort to protect drivers from large pieces of debris such as tyres. The design was one of many tested, with Red Bull testing an aeroscreen at the Russian GP in 2016 and Sebastian Vettel testing another version of the screen at this year's British GP.
