Williams the first team to unveil images of its 2017 Formula 1 challenger

Williams has become the first team to post images of its 2017 Formula 1 challenger, the FW40, ahead of the start of the new season. Formula 1 this season welcomes new regulations, focused on making cars quicker, predominantly due to increased levels of downforce and wider tyres from Pirelli. Williams has retained the thumb-nose on the front wing, with the most striking difference being its reshaped rear wing, as the overall Martini-based livery has been kept for another season. Williams, which finished fifth in the constructors’ championship last year, has named its 2017 car the FW40, in homage to the team’s four decades of competition in the sport.
