Hamilton confirms Apple documentary in production

The documentary is set to look back at Hamilton's journey to the top of F1.

Lewis Hamilton has confirmed he is producing a documentary about his career for Apple.

The seven-time F1 World Champion has taken a step into the Film and TV industry in recent years, taking a production role on a new film focused on the sport set to star Brad Pitt and be directed by Joseph Kosinski, who oversaw Top Gun: Maverick.

Hamilton also launched his own production company - Dawn Apollo Films - to cement his place within the industry.

But alongside the production of the F1 film, which will see Pitt play an ageing racer coming out of retirement to assists a younger competitor aiming for title glory, Hamilton is producing a documentary focused on his own journey to the top.

Strange to be followed

"I thought I had already announced it," Hamilton told media, including RacingNews365.com.

"I am producing my documentary along with Apple. It feels different, feels strange having a camera following you around, but it is about my life and my career and my journey to where I am, with the hope of doing what Ayrton Senna's documentary did for me as a kid.

"Maybe it is something new and fresh for the next young kid that's watching, coming home from school and dreaming of something.

"Hopefully they'll watch this and be inspired to do something great themselves."
