Max Verstappen is well ahead of Sergio Perez, his teammate at Red Bull Racing, in the title race after seven Grands Prix. No less than 53 points are already in between the Dutchman and the driver from Mexico, who eventually had to settle for fourth place in Spain after another poor qualifying session. Nothing and nobody seems to be able to keep Verstappen from his third consecutive world title so relatively early in the season.

Although there are still 14 Grands Prix and five sprint races to go, Verstappen looks like he can only lose the title as of now. "You always get somebody to say something like that. Anything can happen," Christian Horner responded to that statement. Speaking to GPBlog and others, the Red Bull Racing team boss continued: "I think that both the championships are looking really healthy at the moment."

Red Bull is not getting ahead of itself

Yet Red Bull refused to be blinded by its current success. Although the distance to the competition is immense - as was also evident in Spain - the Austrian team refuses to become overconfident, or arrogant. Although Verstappen's third win in Barcelona could be celebrated, after one day the sights must already be set on the future.

"Our focus is on now Montreal. After Montreal, it'll be trying to get our 100th victory. After that, it'll be the home race in Austria. After that, it'll be the other home race in Silverstone. And it just rolls on. You go from one event to another. Don't allow yourself to be thinking too far down the line," Horner concluded, thus refusing to speak of a certain championship for his pupil Verstappen.
