Alfa Romeo Racing travels to Monaco with high hopes. The C43 is on the mend and updates will follow this weekend. Valtteri Bottas and Guanyu Zhou look ahead to what the sixth Grand Prix of the calendar has in store for them.

"I am very motivated to do well here," Bottas stated in a press release from his employer. The experienced Finn knows better than anyone that you have to give everything to get the maximum out of it. "The single-lap pace we showed in Miami was an improvement compared to previous races, and it could be crucial on a track where qualifying performance is so important." In the United States, Bottas reached Q3.

Still, the 33-year-old driver is not yet satisfied. There is still work to be done to make the Alfa Romeo car more competitive. "There is still some work to be done – and the team took the time since Miami to keep working on developing our car. We will keep pushing forward, aiming to further improve our performance, and add more points to our tally."

Teammate Zhou is also looking forward to the weekend in Monaco. "It’s the one Grand Prix where everyone wants to do well, and where every small detail can make the difference" said the Chinese driver. "We were set to bring upgrades to the C43 in Imola, and we will have them in Monaco this weekend. Hopefully, they’ll help us making a positive change and getting back in the points.”

After five Grands Prix, Alfa Romeo is on six points. Four of these were achieved by Bottas, while the Swiss racing team owes the remaining two points to Zhou.
