Alonso: Aston Martin a title contender before 2026

Fernando Alonso says Aston Martin won't need to wait for its works partnership with Honda to kick off in 2026 to fight for the world title in Formula 1. Aston and Honda announced this week that they would join forces in 2026, a move that will provide the Silverstone-based outfit with complete design autonomy, contrary to its current situation that sees it rely on a drivetrain and rear suspension supplied by Mercedes.
