Max Verstappen could smash Sebastian Vettel's record in 2022

Max Verstappen goes into the returning Singapore Grand Prix this weekend knowing that he has his first opportunity to wrap up his second consecutive Drivers' Championship, should results go his way. With a 116-point-lead over Charles Leclerc, and with only six races remaining, Verstappen could win the title at the first race at the Marina Bay Circuit since 2019. The highly popular race, which is regarded as one of the most demanding on the calendar due to its high temperatures and humidity, was cancelled like most Asian races in 2020 and 2021, due to the Coronavirus pandemic.
