Nyck de Vries, Jack Doohan and Antonio Giovinazzi are all being given tests by Alpine as the French side aim to find a team-mate for Esteban Ocon next year. Alpine started the season with Ocon and Fernando Alonso as their main drivers, and Oscar Piastri as a reserve, but the Spaniard was out of contract at the end of the season. Team principal, Otmar Szafnauer, could not decide whether he wanted Alonso or Piastri to be their driver of choice going forward, and both became tired of the situation.
