Mercedes F1 co-owner sets sights on Man Utd purchase

Billionaire businessman Sir Jim Ratcliffe says he wants to buy ailing soccer team Manchester United. Ratcliffe already owns French team Nice and Swiss squad FC Lausanne-Sport. He's also the chief executive officer of global chemical business INEOS, which owns 33 percent of Mercedes F1 with the rest split between Mercedes-Benz owner Daimler AG and Toto Wolff. Earlier this year Ratcliffe made a dramatic late bid to buy Chelsea FC when former owner Roman Abramovich was forced to sell his prize asset in the wake of sanctions levelled against Russian oligarchs over Ukraine.
